Persistance on the Wrong Foot.

Being that I’m such a quirky personality, it would make sense that someone being persistent is cute and endearing to me. After all, I’ve gone out with a few guys based on persistance, and have actually enjoyed my time spent with them, even if it doesn’t work out in the end.

However, there is a point when persistance can be annoying, and even creepy to the point of stalkerish.

Case in point: A couple months ago, I reconnected with an old friend (non-romantically linked) from high school. Although he used to (and still does) talk about how he’s always had a crush on me, he’s been a pretty good friend and we’ve had some crazy times together senior year (of course, in the company of other people). I have NEVER been interested in him, and there’s nothing about his personality, his humor, his style, anything that has me drawn to him. He is JUST a friend. Yet, he still has this thing for me, and has tried to get me to go out with him, and I turn him down, letting him know that I’m not interested, I don’t want to date him etc.

Since classes started back up, I’ve been working more, as well as juggling a full class load, and student orgs, leaving me next to no time to myself. Being that I HATE when people call me during work/class/meetings/etc, I let people know when I’m busy. Yet, I still get calls/texts from people during these times.

Now usually when someone doesn’t respond to a text message/answer a call, that is an indication that they’re busy, no? Well, this friend will text me like 3 times asking me what I’m doing (in all three messages, maybe 30 minutes apart). When I don’t respond, he will call me. Today, he called me during my 8:30 am class!!!

I haven’t been answering his calls, or responding to his texts, im’s or facebook messages. I’ve been doing this for 3 weeks, and he STILL calls/texts/im’s me. At this point I don’t know what to do with this guy, because he obviously doesn’t take no for an answer.

*Sigh*…Why do I attract all the fucking stalkerish nutcases?
